Register Boat Trailers at Tunlar Agency

Boat Trailer Registration and Title Services are available just one mile from the public boat launch at Mangan Cove on Lake Wallenpaupack.



Pennsylvania residents can title & register Boat Trailers at Tunlar Agency. Out-of-state residents must title in their home state of residency. Simply stop by our office with proof of ownership (PA Title or Transferable Registration Card), Valid ID, and Bill of Sale. It's also recommended to take a picture of the VIN Plate and the trailer.


*Please note, VIN VERIFICATION and Weight Verification will be required for a brand new trailer with a MCO/MSO, and for out-of-state titles or transferable registration cards, on trailers coming into PA. Out-of-state residents must title in their home state of residency.


You can bring the trailer to our office for a notary agent to verify - providing the VIN Plate and Weight Stickers are accessible/visible. If that's not possible, you will need to obtain a clear, legible rubbing/tracing of the VIN Plate with paper and pencil, or have a PennDOT MV-41 form completed by a Boat Dealer Mechanic, PA Inspection Mechanic, or by a Police Officer. You may need to have the trailer weighed for the unladen and gross vehicle weights at a weigh station.


We don't make the rules, but in order to assist you in applying for title and registration of your trailer, we must comply with PA State Regulations and requirements.


In-Transit Tags, or License Plate & Registration, can be purchased by out-of-state residents purchasing a new or used trailer in PA. This allows you to legally transport your trailer and return to your home state for title and registration. You'll receive a 60-day Temporary Registration card, and In-Transit License Plate.
