You'll need the following items:
valid proof of ID (PA driver's license or PA photo ID)
valid PA motorcycle insurance (name must match)
valid title (court order, or transferable registration card)
VIN verification* (if coming in from out-of-state)
bill of sale
mileage (unless exempt)
Lienholder, if financed
*Out-of-state vehicles coming into PA for title and registration will require VIN
VERIFICATION. We can provide verification if your motorcycle is present and the vin is visible. You can also obtain a legible VIN tracing/rubbing and bring that with you, or use the PennDOT form MV-41 and make sure it's correctly completed by a PA inspection mechanic, or a police officer.
IN-TRANSIT Temporary Registration is available for out-of-state residents purchasing a motorcycle, or other vehicle/trailer in PA. This provides a 60-day temporary registration card, In-Transit License Plate, and allows a buyer time to legally operate the vehicle or trailer, and return to their home state of residency for title and registration.
Duplicate Title requests can be submitted if your title has been lost. We also provide NOTARY** Services for the seller's signature requirement on PA Titles when selling a vehicle. Make sure you have the original title (or duplicate), and the purchaser's correct name and mailing address.
