We make it easy so you won't miss out on cruising with friends, riding solo,
or heading out on a cross-country tour with your group.
To TITLE & REGISTER a Motorcycle in PA, you will need:
Proof of Ownership
Valid PA Driver's License or Photo ID
Valid Proof of PA nsurance
Bill of Sale
VIN Verification for out-of-state vehicles
Any supporting documents
Photos of all sides & VIN plate
Proof of Ownership: Documents must be the most recent original (Valid Title, MCO/MSO, or Transferrable Registration) with any required notary sections properly completed. If buyer and seller are both present with valid ID, we can assist with most notary needs. If any parties are signing as a power of attorney, the original P.O.A. form is required.
Valid PA ID: You will need a valid PA Driver's License or Photo ID. Call for a full list of acceptable ID types.
Valid PA Insurance: Your proof of Pennsylvania Insurance can be an ID Card, Policy Declaration Page, or Valid Binder. It must list the names of all registered owners.

Bill of Sale: We get a lot of push-back on this. A bill of sale, or paid invoice, is proof of the purchase price paid and is what the state requires for determining sales tax, if applicable. We require it so our file documentation is complete for audit purposes, and it may be needed to provide proof of trade-in value.
VIN Verification: A VIN Verification is required for out-of-state vehicles coming into PA, and some vehicles, as required by PennDOT. This means that we need to physically compare the VIN shown on your vehicle, against the Proof of Ownership Document presented. If you cannot have the vehicle present at our office for vin verification, you can attempt to get a clear, legible, vin tracing or rubbing. Keep in mind, this method can be challenging and sometimes impossible to obtain. It must show the complete VIN. You also have the option to use MV-41 that must be correctly signed by a PA inspection mechanic, a police officer, or out-of-state dealership mechanic. Call our office for the full list of who is authorized to provide a vin verification.
Supporting Documentation: You may need additional documents and forms, such as Power of Attorney, Death Certificate or Short Certificate, Fair Market Value, Gift Form, Proof of Weights for a vehicle, Proof that the previously titled owner paid sales tax, and more. It's always best to contact our office to confirm exactly what will be needed for your situation, who will be required to sign, and what forms we may be able to provide.
Photos: Depending on the type of title and registration you are requesting, photos may be required, and it's always a good idea to have them available to present. Pictures on your phone are fine, and we have the ability to print them, if needed. Take a color picture of all 4 sides, and the VIN plate.
If you're an out-of-state resident buying a Motorcycle in PA, we sell PA In-Transit Temporary Registration & License Plate.
You will need the original, properly completed Title or Transferrable Registration Card, Valid ID, and proof of Motorcycle Insurance from your state. It's quick & easy - buyer and seller can meet at our office for any Notary Requirements.
