Registering your BOAT for use at Lake Wallenpaupack is easy, just start with the Professional Services available at TUNLAR AGENCY:
INSTANT BOAT INSURANCE (in person or by mobile)
Boat TITLE Application with PA Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC)
Temporary 60-Day Boat Registration
PA residents can also Title & Register a Boat Trailer
Boat Insurance is not mandatory at Lake Wallenpaupack, but it's highly recommended to protect you, your family, and your assets. Most marinas and homeowner community associations do require proof of insurance to use their facilities. Be sure to include all operators that may use your boat throughout the season. PH 570-226-0550.
Boat Titles: You'll receive proof of boat title application. Once approved by PFBC, it will be mailed to your primary address. Out-of-state residents can obtain a PA boat title, and use their primary residence address, even if out-of-state.
As an Agent of the Commission, we can issue a Temporary Boat Registration that's valid for 60 days and included with your application. If PFBC rejects the application, the temporary registration is void until the items needed are provided, and approved. Once approved by PFBC, the boat 2-year Registration Card and decals will be mailed to the address on the application.
Out-of-state residents can apply for registration if the boat is principally used and stored in Pennsylvania. You do not need a PA mailing address - the address shown on your valid ID will be used.
You'll need the following items:
Proof of Ownership: Valid MCO, Title, or Transferable Registration Card
Valid ID
Bill of Sale
You may need pictures of all 4 sides of the boat & the HIN placard
Payment (cash, check, card, apple pay/stored forms)
(sales tax, state fees, agent fees, processing fees)
If you purchased a boat and do not have a title or transferable registration card, call our office to discuss what's needed, PH 570-226-0550.
DUPLICATE Boat TITLE Application
A boat title is needed in Pennsylvania to transfer ownership (unless it's an older boat that has a transferable registration card). The seller will need to have their signature notarized on a PA Boat Title.
A duplicate boat title can be requested if the original is lost or destroyed. Tunlar Agency can assist with Duplicat Boat Title Application to PFBC. The titled owner(s), or POA agent, will need to stop by our office with as much detail about the boat as possible: a copy of the lost title, the registration card, or the Hull ID Number (HIN).
If there is a power of attorney, or it's a death procedure, valid and original documents will be needed. There is a state fee, and agent fee for this service, and it will take several weeks for you to receive the duplicate title by mail. The occasional, unique situation sometimes occurs with ownership documents. Always call ahead to discuss what is needed. PH 570-226-0550.
We are an Authorized Agent of the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission. However, only the commission can approve applications for title and registration. We must adhere to their strict guidelines for submissions. Call with questions: 570-226-0550.
Tunlar Agency is an Authorized Agent with PENNDOT for Boat Trailer Title and Registration. These services are available to Pennsylvania residents with Valid ID.
Out-of-state residents can purchase IN-TRANSIT Temporary Registration for a Trailer being purchase in PA. This allows 60 days to legally use/tow the trailer while you prepare to title and register in your home state of residency.
In most cases, your visit to Tunlar Agency will be completed efficiently and you'll leave with the proof needed to have a legal and pleasant boating adventure at Lake Wallenpaupack. Occasionally, there's a hiccup in the process and we'll do our best to resolve any issues, together with your assistance. Pushback on the items required by PFBC will only delay your application process. Call us to discuss what's needed, PH 570-226-0550, before stopping by so your visit will be a pleasant and efficient experience.
